Bradley Awards 2022 Diversity Scholarships to Law Students from Belmont University and Southern University

Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP issued the following annoucement on Sept. 23.

Bradley is pleased to announce that the firm has awarded its 2022 Diversity Scholarships to law students Dani Bhadare-Valente from Belmont University College of Law and DeMario Thornton from the Southern University Law Center.

As part of the firm’s ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion in the legal profession, Bradley’s diversity scholarship promotes the education of law students who reflect the diversity of the legal marketplace and who are traditionally underrepresented in the legal profession. Each scholarship includes a summer clerkship.

“We are very pleased to welcome back both Dani and DeMario to Bradley this summer as our diversity scholarship recipients,” said Bradley’s Director of Inclusion and Diversity George Medlock. “They have proven themselves as outstanding, diligent students of the law.”

Ms. Bhadare-Valente will return to the firm’s Nashville office for her clerkship this summer, after serving as a summer clerk in the same office last year. As a second-year law student, Ms. Bhadare-Valente ranks in the top of her law class. She is a member of the Belmont College of Law American Inn of Court and serves as a Belmont Law Ambassador. Ms. Bhadare-Valente earned her B.A. from the University of Virginia.

Mr. Thornton will return to the firm’s Birmingham office for his clerkship this summer, after serving as a summer clerk in the same office last year. As a second-year law student, Mr. Thornton ranks in the top of his law class. Mr. Thornton earned his B.A. from Talladega College, where served as SGA vice president and held the title of Mr. Talladega College.

Bradley is committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive workforce and culture at the firm and engages in significant efforts in this regard. The firm’s efforts include regularly organizing, hosting and participating in programs, seminars and panels aimed at increasing diversity in the legal profession.
