Corporate Counsel Honors Kimberly Bullock Gatling Among Women, Influence & Power in Law Honorees

Award

Fox Rothschild LLP issued the following announcement on Aug. 24.

Fox Rothschild LLP congratulates Kimberly Bullock Gatling, who is recognized as a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Champion by Corporate Counsel in its 2021 Women, Influence & Power in Law awards.

These awards spotlight women leaders in the legal industry who have demonstrated extraordinary leadership and business acumen; who are business strategists, complex problem-solvers and great lawyers; and who are exemplary in their personal dedication to the promotion of diversity in the field.

Appointed in May 2020 as Fox’s first Chief D&I Officer, Gatling has worked to develop and implement programs and policies that support the firm’s goals of increasing and promoting a diverse workforce and inclusive environment at all levels.

During the summer of 2020, she coordinated donations of $25,000 each to the Innocence Project and Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Under Law and launched a firmwide pro bono initiative partnering with organizations throughout the country that supported Black communities by targeting aid to Black-owned businesses and addressing issues of inequity in housing, criminal justice and entrepreneurism.

To jump-start efforts to track significant metrics and reach new benchmarks, Gatling recently led the firm’s entrance into Diversity Lab’s Mansfield Rule 5.0 and ChIPs and Diversity Lab’s Inclusion Blueprint, which help evaluate and promote equitable work opportunities and diversity in positions of law firm leadership.

“I’m truly honored to be recognized among this tremendous group of women working to establish a diverse and inclusive workforce in the legal industry,” said Gatling. “Despite the long road ahead, I’m optimistic that the momentum built thus far will bring us closer to real, lasting change.”
