BENTONVILLE, Ark. (Legal Newsline) -- An Arkansas woman is suing Aldi after an item fell and allegedly bust open her big toe.

Whitney King filed a complaint on August 5 in Benton County Circuit Court against Aldi for negligence.

According to the complaint, on Oct. 9, 2020, King picked up a telescopic broom from a shelf without knowing that it had an unsecured part tipped with a blunt end.

Immediately after picking up the product, the item fell apart and landed directly onto her right big toe, severely injuring her, the suit claims. As a result, King suffered an acute fracture in her right great toe that required invasive surgery to repair, she says. King alleges that Aldi was negligent in keeping customers from getting injured.

King is represented by Mark C. Lucas.
