Benesch is pleased to announce that Bob Morgan has been appointed as Vice-Chair to the Cannabis Law and Policy General Committee of the American Bar Association for the 2021-22 bar year. This leadership appointment is a clear recognition of Bob’s competence and experience, commitment to TIPS (Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section), and reputation among our over 11,000 TIPS members.
This position will provide Bob with opportunities to work and network with leaders from around the country, be at the forefront of emerging issues, participate in cutting-edge nationally recognized CLE programs, publish in our publications, and participate in and help plan activities that enhance professional development, ethics, diversity, and public service. His appointment will begin September 1, 2021.
Bob is a health care regulatory and policy attorney with extensive experience in the still-developing cannabis industry. As the first statewide project coordinator for the State of Illinois Medical Cannabis Pilot Program, Bob was appointed by the Governor of Illinois to develop and implement a regulatory framework for the use of cannabis by eligible patients. Bob is currently the Illinois State Representative for the 58th District, and is a leading voice in the Illinois General Assembly on medical, and adult-use, cannabis legislation. He draws on his experience working with state and federal agencies, and private businesses to help clients understand and operate in this growing sector of the economy.
