Cozen O’Connor is pleased to announce that commercial litigator Kaan Ekiner will be joining the Commercial Litigation Practice in the firm’s Wilmington office. Ekiner has built a respected career as a distinguished litigator handling corporate and complex commercial matters involving corporate governance, and contractual and other commercial disputes. His addition marks the continued growth of Cozen O’Connor’s nationally recognized Commercial Litigation Practice.
“Kaan has demonstrated a level-headed and methodical approach to some of the most complex commercial litigation disputes. He is a wonderful addition to the team and a tremendous asset for Cozen O’Connor,” said James H. Heller, co-chair of Cozen O’Connor’s Commercial Litigation Department. “We welcome his chancery court experience as well as his superior court and federal court experience, where he litigated complex commercial and fiduciary matters. We expect he will be a robust addition to our growing department.”
Ekiner routinely litigates in the Delaware Court of Chancery, where he handles matters involving corporate control, shareholder rights, and fiduciary duties. He also brings significant experience before the Delaware Superior Court and the District of Delaware. Ekiner has first chair trial experience, and enhances Cozen O’Connor’s strength in providing comprehensive representation in precedent-setting disputes in Delaware courts.

Besides the in-depth knowledge and relationships within the Delaware federal and state court systems, he is a trusted adviser and well regarded by his peers,” said Mark E. Ekiner has served on the Delaware State Bar Association’s Executive Committee since 2018, and is currently a member-at-large. He has served as the co-chair of the Delaware State Bar Association's International Section since 2017, and routinely represent pro bono clients, including serving as an attorney guardian ad litem through the Office of the Child Advocate. Ekiner has been recognized as a Delaware Super Lawyer, “Rising Star” for Business Litigation.

Ekiner earned his J.D. at the Widener University School of Law, where he graduated cum laude and his B.A. at the University of Delaware.
