Benjamin A. Kelley, a partner in Ballard Spahr's Baltimore office who represents lenders and borrowers in commercial real estate financing transactions, has been elected by the members of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys (ACMA) as a Fellow of the organization of leading mortgage attorneys nationwide.
As a preeminent organization of private practice and in-house commercial real estate finance lawyers, ACMA supports enhancement of Fellows’ professional excellence, national business networks, and lasting collegial relationships.
ACMA Fellows have distinguished themselves as practitioners in the field of real estate mortgage law. Admission to the organization is by nomination only, and qualified lawyers must meet rigorous criteria. Fellows share a commitment to giving back to their profession, improving and reforming laws and procedures affecting real estate-secured transactions, and raising the level of professionalism of lawyers practicing mortgage law.
Mr. Kelley counsels clients in all aspects of real estate-related legal matters, with primary emphasis on commercial real estate finance transactions. He is a member of Ballard Spahr’s Real Estate Finance Group and serves as a Co-Team Leader of the firm’s Insurance Company and Institutional Investments Team, which advises large institutions involved in commercial real estate investing and lending transactions. Mr. Kelley also currently serves as the Chair of the Residential, Multifamily and Special Use Group of the Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Section of the American Bar Association.
