JONES DAY: Jones Day partner Elise Zoli recognized as a 2021 Energy/Environment Trailblazer by the National Law Journal

Award

Jones Day issued the following announcement on July 2.

The National Law Journal (NLJ) has chosen Elise Zoli, a partner in Jones Day's Energy Practice who co-leads the Firm's Future of Energy, Renewables+ & Sustainability initiative, for its list of 2021 Energy/Environment Trailblazers. Through the various Trailblazers special supplements, the NLJ recognizes agents of change—movers and shakers in the legal industry who have made significant contributions to, and innovations in, their area of practice.

Ms. Zoli is a longstanding and committed clean energy pioneer who, in her work at Jones Day, focuses on advancing global strategic alliances in new markets in the clean energy and de-carbonized sectors.

Her history is full of firsts, from her work on the team that privatized the first U.S. nuclear facility, to advancing the development of offshore wind, to helping build the bona fides of carbon-neutral electric generation. She was one of two U.S. lead counsel who helped lead industry's support of carbon regulation in Mass v. EPA (2006). She also facilitated the transfer of an extraordinary corporate collection of biological data and information to a leading university's research institute focused on climate science.

Today, Ms. Zoli focuses on global strategic alliances and joint ventures in renewables, storage, blue/green hydrogen, fusion, de-carbonized industrials, regenerative agriculture, and water. She brings her distinctive blend of business savvy and passion to advancing clients' innovative visions for the future.

Ms. Zoli also co-founded–and is on the Board of Directors of–the Alliance for a Climate Resilient Earth, which resides at the non-partisan Stimson Center, in partnership with the Prince Albert II Foundation. Additionally, she is a Special Advisor to the Bhutan Foundation, including in their establishment of the second global SuperFabLab -- a novel public/private partnership with MIT, funded in part by the U.S. State Department.
