POLSINELLI PC: Polsinelli Bankruptcy Vice Chair Shanti Mulpuru Katona Named Secretary of the Bankruptcy Section of the Delaware State Bar Association

Am Law 100 firm Polsinelli congratulates Shareholder Shanti Mulpuru Katona on her election as Secretary of the Delaware State Bar Association’s (DSBA) Bankruptcy Section. Katona is a shareholder and serves as the Vice Chair of Polsinelli’s national Bankruptcy & Restructuring Practice; she is located in Polsinelli’s Wilmington office.

Katona was elected secretary for the DSBA Bankruptcy Section this month. Her new role will begin July 1, 2021 and run through June 30, 2022. This is Katona’s first officer position with DSBA. She was also recently elected to her first term on American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) Board of Directors in May. Katona’s other roles with ABI include Co-Chair of the ABI’s Diversity and Inclusion Working Group, the Mid-Atlantic Bankruptcy Workshop Program, serves on the Advisory Board for Georgetown Views from the Bench, and was an inaugural member of ABI’s 40 Under 40 program.

“I am honored to step into this role as DSBA’s secretary of the Bankruptcy Section and serve on behalf of the DSBA in a leadership position for the first time in my legal career,” said Katona. “I look forward to cultivating relationships among the lawyers of Delaware through my extended leadership with the DSBA.”

At Polsinelli, Katona focuses her practice on bankruptcy, financial restructuring and creditors’ rights matters. She has nearly 14 years of practice working with distressed companies and has significant experience in representing Chapter 11 debtors, Official Committees of Unsecured Creditors and bankruptcy litigants across the country.
