Troutman Pepper Hamilton Sanders LLP issued the following announcement on June 24.
Alyson Pirio has joined Troutman Pepper as a partner in the firm’s Tax & Benefits Practice Group. Most recently, Pirio served as senior corporate counsel for GSMA, Ltd., a global telecom trade association.
Pirio brings almost 15 years’ experience in tax law to the firm. At GSMA, she was responsible for managing the trade association’s corporate governance, contracting, and tax compliance activities. Previously she served in the Office of Chief Counsel in the Internal Revenue Service’s Atlanta office.
“Aly brings highly valuable skills and experience to our practice,” said Joan Arnold, leader of the firm’s Tax & Benefits Practice Group. “Her sophisticated non-profit tax experience and tax work in the partnership and transactional arenas is a big draw for the firm and allows us to provide even more robust services for our clients. Pirio earned her J.D. and B.A. degrees from Emory University.
