Woman sues salon for botched Brazilian waxing

NEW YORK (Legal Newsline) - A woman is suing a threading and waxing salon after allegedly sustaining injuries from a Brazilian waxing.

Kenia Reyes filed a complaint on May 4 in New York County Supreme Court against Ruhi Threading and Waxing Salon Inc. and "Jane Doe" for personal injury.

According to the claim, Reyes went into Ruhi Threading and Waxing Salon Inc. on Feb. 15, 2020, to get a Brazilian waxing service. Reyes alleges that the waxing was done unsafely and unskillfully causing her to suffer "severe labial lacerations."

Reyes alleges that the salon "its agents, servants and/or employees, caused, allowed and permitted, an unsafe Brazilian Waxing service," the complaint states. Reyes alleged that she was rendered sick, sore and disabled from the personal injury and became obligated to spend money on medical care to treat the injuries.

Reyes seeks monetary compensation. Reyes is represented by Gregory S. Newman of Newman, Anzalone and Newman.
