Polsinelli PC issued the following announcement on May 26.

Am Law 100 firm Polsinelli continues to expand its national Real Estate Finance Practice with the addition of new Shareholder Jennifer L. Garrett. The firm welcomes Garrett to its New York City office, where she adds depth to Polsinelli’s robust team of financial services attorneys in the nation’s financial capital.

Garrett brings more than a decade of legal experience representing major financial institutions, private equity funds and real estate developers on both the lender and borrower sides of complex real estate and asset-backed financings in the United States and abroad. She also represents buyers and sellers on repurchase facility originations and restructurings.

“We are pleased to add Jen to our team as we remain focused on strategic growth in key areas of the practice for which depth is necessary for our client demand,”  said Financial Services Division Chair John T. Duncan III. “Jen is a terrific lawyer with a versatile practice. Her client-service focus and commitment to solving problems will be valued as we strive to be a national leader in the real estate finance industry.”

Garrett’s practice focuses on offering an in-depth understanding of the intricate underwriting concerns as well as the legal issues presented in closing real estate finance transactions. Her practice includes portfolio and single asset mortgage loan originations and restructurings, CMBS conduit, large loan and SASB securitized lending, mezzanine and preferred equity financings, syndications, participations, b-notes, asset pledges, portfolio CLO contributions, loan on loans, single family rental financings and other structured finance products.

“I was impressed with Polsinelli’s national reputation in financial services and its longstanding commitment and approach to client service,” said Garrett. “This move allows me to have a national platform for my practice with access to a full-service team, creating more opportunities and added value for my clients who benefit from a holistic legal service offering.”

Garrett serves as a member of the Real Estate Committee of the New York City Bar Association. She earned a B.A. from Cornell University before obtaining a J.D. from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles.

Garrett joins a strong Real Estate Finance Practice which recently earned a Tier 1 ranking in Real Estate Law on the 2021 Best Lawyers® “Best Law Firms” list by U.S. News & World Report. Her addition to the firm continues the momentum of Polsinelli’s New York City office, which recently added two other new shareholders who focus on construction law.
