Nelson Mullins issued the following announcement on May 27.

Partners Cory Manning, Robert Lindholm, and associate Wesley Moran secured a dismissal for their client in a case that generated national headlines over its 2 1/2 year lifespan. The three have been working on a Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act case involving former University of Louisville basketball recruit Brian Bowen, Jr., who claimed defendants Adidas and certain employees and consultants derailed his college and NBA career.

Bowen sued the defendants accusing them of violating the RICO Act by engaging in bribery, fraud, and money laundering at the expense of his NCAA eligibility, athletic development, and eventual future in the NBA.

The Judge ultimately granted summary judgment for the defendants on Wednesday. Manning, Lindholm, and Moran represented former Adidas employee Christopher Rivers. "We are very pleased with the Judge's decision dismissing Mr. Bowen's lawsuit against all defendants and very happy for our client, Chris Rivers," Lindholm said.

Manning, Lindholm, and Moran practice in business litigation, corporate investigations and white-collar defense.
