A federal class action lawsuit against Procter and Gamble alleges that Crest brand gum and enamel repair toothpaste, manufactured by the defendant, makes unreasonable and impossible gum repair claims.
According to the complaint filed on April 14 in the Northern California U.S. District Court, plaintiff and class representative Liza Lichtinger says the Crest manufacturer misleads its consumers in stating on the toothpaste packaging that it can repair gums; the complaint says that gums that have been structurally damaged or deteriorated can only be repaired through dental surgery such as gum grafting.
The class charges Procter and Gamble with violation of business and professions code and Consumer Legal Remedies Act violations.
The plaintiff is represented by Bonnett, Fairbourn, Friedman and Balint PC of San Diego.
