Reed Smith LLP issued the following announcement on Oct. 14.
Reed Smith announced S. Miles Dumville has been selected as a member of the Class of 2020 of the Virginia Lawyers Hall of Fame, sponsored by Virginia Lawyers Weekly.
“This is a well-deserved honor for Miles, who has been a stalwart of our Virginia Commercial Disputes Group for more than 20 years,” said Sandy Thomas, Reed Smith’s Global Managing Partner. “He has an illustrious record of service to the firm, to the profession and to the community. We are extremely pleased he has been honored for his stellar career achievements.”
A lifelong Virginia attorney with nearly 45 years of experience, Dumville joined Reed Smith when it combined with his previous firm, Hazel Thomas PC in 1999. At the time of the combination, he was Hazel Thomas’ Managing Partner for the Richmond office, a member of that firm’s Executive Committee, and a partner in its Litigation and Government Relations Practices. After the Reed Smith – Hazel & Thomas combination, Dumville continued to serve as the Managing Partner of the Richmond office until 2017, and as a member of the firm’s Professional Responsibility Committee. He was also a three-year member of the Board of the Virginia Bar Association and the Chair of the Association’s Civil Litigation Section.
“I am grateful to be one of the 24 members of the Virginia Lawyers Hall of Fame this year,” said Dumville. “My fellow class members are distinguished and highly accomplished and I am honored to be among them.
