REED SMITH LLP: Daily Journal names Ray Cardozo a Top 100 Lawyer

Award

Reed Smith LLP issued the following announcement on Sept. 17.

Reed Smith partner Ray Cardozo has been named a “Top 100 Lawyer” in California by The Daily Journal.

Cardozo was highlighted for having litigated more than 200 appellate matters in state and federal courts, and for being elected first vice president of the California Academy of Appellate Lawyers this past year. He is based in the firm’s San Francisco office.

Cardozo’s Daily Journal profile highlights a recent victory defending his client from extremely creative but exorbitant ($90 billion) whistleblower claims, among his many other career achievements. In it, Cardozo also discusses the reversal and reinstatement of a client's multibillion-dollar claim against his brother in the dramatic Jogani v. Jogani case.

Cardozo’s practice focuses on complex commercial litigation and appellate matters, including real estate litigation, tort and punitive damages claims, statutory/regulatory disputes, class action, commercial licensing/intellectual property, financial services, products liability and mass torts, employment discrimination, telecommunications and other litigation.

He has argued numerous cases before the U.S. Supreme Court, California Supreme Court, federal circuits and state appellate courts, and has played a significant strategic and advocacy role in numerous complex commercial litigations at the trial court level. Prior to joining Reed Smith, Cardozo served for years as a Deputy Attorney General in the Office of the California Attorney General.
