Nelson Mullins issued the following announcement on Sept. 17.
IFLR1000 United States, a legal directory that covers deals, has chosen Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP for its inaugural Maryland Law Firm of the Year Award.
The firm was also shortlisted for the organization’s Georgia Law Firm of the Year Award.
These new U.S. awards “celebrate the most innovative U.S. deals and the best-performing law firms and lawyers across the states in 2019 and recognize where firms and lawyers performed exceptionally both locally and nationally.” IFLR1000 United States ranks firms and lawyers in every state in up to six practice areas, depending on the volume of mandates available. These areas are banking, capital markets, M&A, project development, real estate and restructuring and insolvency.
In February, IFLR1000’s sister publication, Benchmark Litigation, awarded its Maryland Law Firm of the Year to Nelson Mullins, calling the firm a “newcomer,” and citing it for its commercial litigation and employment law practices, while noting that litigator Michael A. Brown is a “heavy hitter.”
Nelson Mullins opened its Baltimore office in February 2018 with the addition of a group of corporate attorneys led by Managing Partner Timothy Hodge and a litigation team headed by Brown.
