NELSON MULLINS: Sheria Clarke Joins Board of Directors for Phillis Wheatley Community Center

Nelson Mullins issued the following announcement on Sept. 8.

Greenville of counsel Sheria Clarke has joined the Board of Directors for the Phillis Wheatley Community Center, an organization in Greenville empowering individuals and families to reach their full potential.

Clarke joined the board in August 2020. The Phillis Wheatley Community Center, named after the first African American author of a published book of poetry, places an emphasis on serving underserved and unserved children. It offers education, health and wellness, and arts programs for children and families. The center also partners with local organizations, nonprofits, and governmental offices to immerse community children in cultural and educational opportunities.

Clarke is a member of the firm's White Collar Defense & Government Investigations Team. Before joining Nelson Mullins, she was Staff Director for the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform in the U.S. House of Representatives. Outside of her practice, Clarke has also served on the Board of the Foundation for the Governor's School for Science and Mathematics.
