Whitney Phelps, Health Care & FDA shareholder in the Albany Office of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, spoke at the Virtual New York Regional Healthcare Compliance Association’s (HCCA) Conference on May 8 at 8:30 a.m.
The conference provided attendees with a forum to interact with local compliance professionals, share information about compliance successes and challenges, and created educational opportunities for compliance professionals to strengthen the industry, according to the HCCA website.
Phelps’ topic was titled, “Hot Topics in Compliance,” and she focused on federal compliance issues, New York state compliance and Medicaid redesign.
Phelps provides strategic guidance, solutions, and analysis for all types of healthcare stakeholders, including providers of healthcare and developmental disability services and payors. Her experience includes arranging and negotiating complex joint venture agreements, including various alternative payment arrangements, between providers and managed care organizations, and other transactions and mergers for clients, with special attention to New York regulatory compliance. Phelps also has wide-ranging experience representing healthcare entities before the New York State Executive Branch to shape health care policy, Medicaid redesign, laws, and regulations.
