DLA Piper US LLP issued the following announcement on April 22.
DLA Piper announced that Daniel Garen has joined the firm’s Litigation and Regulatory practice as a partner in Washington, DC.
Garen is a healthcare and industrial products lawyer who develops and helps implement best-in-class compliance and risk management strategies at public and private pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device and industrial companies around the world. He counsels clients on policies and procedures that can mitigate risk and optimize business workflows. He uses a continuous improvement suite of tools to deploy compliance as a business accelerator. He advises commercial and research organizations and provides enterprise leadership and oversight for product launch strategies based on market intelligence and approved labeling. He has also managed and resolved multi-jurisdictional Deferred Prosecution Agreements, Corporate Integrity Agreements, corporate raids and Civil Investigative Demands.
He joins from Pivot Point Compliance Management, a compliance consulting firm he founded after serving as chief compliance officer for a number of medium and large cap multinational organizations.

Garen received his J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, his LL.M. in health law from Loyola University and his B.A. from the University of Michigan.
