JetSmarter sued for breach of contract after allegedly withholding membership benefits

Federal Court
General court 10

LOS ANGELES (Legal Newsline) - Breach of contract and fraudulent inducement are just some of the allegations JetSmarter, Inc. faces in a recent lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court.

Sachin Dev Duggal filed the lawsuit on Jan. 6. The plaintiff is also suing for violation of California and Florida’s consumer protection laws and negligent training and supervision. Along with JetSmarter, sales agent Christopher Thomas is named as a defendant.

Duggal claims Thomas emailed him and solicited a JetSmarter membership. Duggal ultimately signed up for a Sophisticated Membership and got his wife a Smart Membership.

“However, less than a year into his three-year contract term, JetSmarter, in breach of the terms of Mr. Duggal’s contract, unilaterally altered the benefits of Mr. Duggal’s membership,” the lawsuit alleges.

Duggal wants at least $5 million and attorneys fees, as well as pre and post-judgment interest.
