PEPPER HAMILTON LLP: The State of the Indian Economy and It Growth in the Financial Services Sector in India

Pepper Hamilton LLP recently issued the following announcement.

The U.S.-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) and Pepper Hamilton will be hosting an interactive luncheon with Dinesh Kumar Khara, managing director at State Bank of India (SBI), featuring an executive conversation on the state of the Indian Economy and IT growth in the financial services sector in India.

The luncheon will be begin with welcoming remarks by Soumya Sharma, an attorney in Pepper's U.S.-India practice, and then lead into a discussion that will address the Indian economy, developments in IT and Fintech for India’s financial services sector, and the key takeaways from the Government of India’s 2020 Union Budget.

Mr. Khara oversees the International Banking book, Corporate Banking book and Treasury operations of the SBI, and he holds a Board position at the company. Additionally, he leads the businesses of Non-Banking subsidiaries of the Bank, such as Asset Management, Life Insurance, General Insurance, Custodial Services, Primary Dealership, Investment Banking, Broking, Credit Cards, Pension Funds and Factoring services. He also supervises 15 Regional Rural Banks (sponsored by SBI) having more than 5,318 branches, and serving more than 55 million customers.
