Bradley Arant Boult Cummings issued the following announcement on Dec. 19.

Bradley is pleased to announce that President Trump has announced his intent to nominate Anna Manasco, a partner in the firm’s Birmingham office, to serve as a judge on the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama.

“We are thrilled that President Trump has tapped Anna to serve as a federal judge with the U.S. District Court,” said Bradley Chairman of the Board and Managing Partner Jonathan M. Skeeters. “Anna is a highly regarded litigator with extensive trial and appeals experience in state and federal courts. She will be an excellent federal judge.”

Ms. Manasco has been with Bradley since 2009. She concentrates her practice on trial strategy and appeals in complex, multi-jurisdictional and high-stakes litigation. She has represented clients in state and federal trial courts, the Alabama Supreme Court, the U.S. Supreme Court, various federal courts of appeal across the country, and arbitration.

A native of Alabama, Ms. Manasco currently serves on the executive board of the American Bar Association's Council of Appellate Lawyers. Prior to joining Bradley, she clerked for Judge William H. Pryor Jr. of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.

Ms. Manasco received her J.D. from Yale Law School. She also holds a D. Phil. from the University of Oxford and a Bachelor of Arts (summa cum laude) from Emory University.

President Trump announced his intent to nominate Ms. Manasco to fill a vacancy that will occur when Chief U.S. District Judge Karon O. Bowdre takes senior status in April 2020.
