Lawsuit claims Tiger's Milk nutrition bars are not as protein-rich as advertised

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (Legal Newsline) – The manufacturer of Tiger's Milk Protein Rich Nutrition Bars is alleged to have misleadingly advertised that the product is rich in protein.

Bryan Collado, on behalf of himself and all others similarly situated, filed a complaint on Sept. 10 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York against Schiff Nutrition International and Reckitt Benckiser alleging violations of the New York Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act and the New York False Advertising Law and common law fraud.

The suit states the defendant misbrands Tiger's Milk Protein Rich Nutrition Bars as "protein-rich."

The plaintiff alleges the nutrition bars are not high in protein and in fact only contain six grams of protein, which he alleges nutritionists and trainers regard as inadequate to help individuals meet their protein needs. The defendant's competitors' products, such as ZonePerfect and Think!, contain 20 grams of protein, the suit states.

The plaintiff alleges that had he known about the nutritional inferiority of the defendant's products, he would not have purchased it.

The plaintiff is seeking punitive and compensatory damages, trial by jury, attorneys' fees, court costs, interest and just relief. The plaintiff is represented by C.K. Lee of Lee Litigation Group PLLC in New York.
