Solution

Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP issued the following announcement on Aug. 28.

Bradley is pleased to announce that Haydn Richards, Jr., a partner in the firm’s Washington, D.C., office, has been re-elected as chair of the Industry Advisory Council of the American Association of Residential Mortgage Regulators (AARMR).

Mr. Richards will serve his second – and final – term as chair, since the AARMR by-laws only allow an individual to serve no more than two terms in the role.

“We congratulate Haydn on his continued leadership as chair of the AARMR Industry Advisory Council,” said Bradley Washington, D.C., Office Managing Partner Douglas L. Patin. “Bradley is fortunate to have Haydn as a highly knowledgeable and experienced attorney advising our clients on complex financial services law and licensing matters.”

Consisting of a select group of AARMR affiliate members, the Council consults, advises and assists the AARMR board of directors on issues relating to residential mortgage regulation. AARMR’s mission is to promote the exchange of information and education concerning the licensing, supervision and regulation of the residential mortgage industry.

Co-leader of Bradley’s Licensing and Examinations team, Mr. Richards is a leader in state financial services law and financial services licensing matters. He also is a nationally recognized leader on mortgage and financial services licensing matters, including counseling clients relating to the formation of financial services companies and strategic acquisitions. He regularly interacts on behalf of financial services companies with federal and state regulatory agencies, both in adversarial and non-adversarial matters. He counsels clients on CFPB compliance, as well as all aspects of the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing (SAFE) Act, financial services licensing matters, and the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System and Registry (NMLS). He also supports companies relating to matters involving residential and commercial mortgage lenders, brokers, and servicers in the forward mortgage and reverse mortgage industries; consumer finance companies; student loan companies; third-party loan fulfillment companies; and debt collectors.

A frequent speaker and author on financial services topics, Mr. Richards also is a member of the NMLS Industry Development Working Group, which is a panel of industry members that directly advises upon the development and continued implementation of the NMLS.
