Littler Mendelson P.C. issued the following announcement on July 9.
Littler, the world’s largest employment and labor law practice representing management, has appointed Whitney Ferrer as office managing shareholder (OMS) of the firm’s Atlanta office. Ferrer succeeds Traywick Duffie, who has stepped down from the role and will continue to focus on his active practice.
“We thank Traywick for his leadership and many contributions during his seven years as OMS,” said Tom Bender and Jeremy Roth, co-managing directors of Littler, in a joint statement. “We are excited to have Whitney serve in this role as she has proven herself a leader through her various committee-level roles at the firm, as well as being an integral member of the Atlanta office. We look forward to her taking the reins and continuing to expand the firm’s footprint in Georgia and throughout the greater Southeast.”
Ferrer focuses on advising employers regarding compliance with federal and state wage and hour laws, including issues relating to exemption classification and pay practices. She is a founding member of Littler's Compliance Audit Services Practice Group and is a core member of Littler's Wage and Hour Practice Group. She also represents employers in complex class and collective actions involving overtime and other wage-related claims, as well as other employment-related litigation. She routinely counsels and trains clients on the preventive measures they should take to avoid or reduce employment- and wage-related claims, and she provides advice on the practical and legal implications of everyday employment decisions.
Ferrer is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the National Association of College and University Attorneys. She received her J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School and her B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis.
