Jones Day issued the following announcement on July 1.
The global law firm Jones Day has appointed Colleen Laduzinski as Partner-in-Charge ("PIC") of the Firm's Boston Office, effective July 1, 2019, succeeding Traci L. Lovitt. In addition, Kate Wallace, a partner in Jones Day's Business & Tort Litigation Practice and Antitrust Practice, will become the Administrative Partner in Boston. David Adler, a partner in the Firm's Financial Institutions Litigation & Regulation Practice, will move to Boston from Cleveland.
Ms. Laduzinski has spent her entire career at Jones Day, joining the New York Office in 2000 as a new lawyer. A Boston University undergraduate, Ms. Laduzinski has a JD, an MBA, and an LLM in Taxation and, as a partner in the Firm's Tax Practice, provides tax and structuring advice in debt restructurings, bankruptcies, capital markets transactions, financings, private equity and M&A deals, and litigation. She will bring her innovative tax and structuring advice more directly to Jones Day's Boston-based clients, with which she has worked extensively in the past.
Ms. Laduzinski has been a member of the Firm's Advisory Committee since 2013 and the Firm's Investment Committee since 2014. For the past five years, she has served as the Firm's practice leader for the New Lawyers Group. In that role, she has been responsible for designing and running Jones Day's annual New Lawyers Academy, which has more than 240 attendees and 70 speakers from across the global Firm. Her significant publications include three Bloomberg BNA Tax Management Portfolios on corporate bankruptcy and financial restructurings, and she is recognized as a bankruptcy tax practitioner.

Ms. Lovitt will relocate to Jones Day's New York Office, where she spent her Firm career before opening the Boston Office. With her transfer back to New York, Ms. Lovitt will become responsible for Firmwide budget matters. She also serves on the Firm's Partnership Committee and Advisory Committee, in addition to serving in numerous other Firm leadership positions, including cohead of the Firmwide associate evaluation process.
Ms. Wallace, who will become the Administrative Partner of the Firm's Boston Office, was recently named a "Winning Litigator" for jury trial victories by The National Law Journal. In June 2018, Kate successfully represented the Boston Red Sox in a two-week jury trial in the first-ever "foul ball" trial in Massachusetts. She was also recently part of Jones Day's team that won a defense verdict for RJRT, the first ever in Massachusetts for a tobacco company defendant going back at least 30 years. She began her career at Jones Day, joining the Firm's Los Angeles Office as a new lawyer in 2004, after working as a summer associate during law school in Los Angeles. She became a partner in the Firm while there and returned home to Boston three years ago.
Mr. Adler, who will move from Cleveland to Boston, has three decades of experience and a national practice serving as lead trial counsel in cases before federal and state courts throughout the country, representing some of the world's largest financial institutions and other businesses. His significant representations include mortgage-backed securities-related cases, securities and consumer finance class actions, financial statement misrepresentation litigation, Ponzi scheme and other fraud-related litigation, audit malpractice cases, and SEC and bank regulatory investigations and enforcement actions.
