PEPPER HAMILTON LLP: Matthew J. Lund Appointed President of Federal Bar Association's Eastern District of Michigan Chapter

Pepper Hamilton LLP issued the following announcement on June 20.

Matthew J. Lund, a partner with Pepper Hamilton, has been appointed the 60th president of the Eastern District of Michigan Chapter of the Federal Bar Association for a one-year term from June 2019 to June 2020. Previously, Mr. Lund served as president-elect, vice president, treasurer and program director of the Chapter.

As president, Mr. Lund will support the enhancement of federal practice and collegiality among the bench and bar in the district, providing opportunities for participation and leadership in the Chapter. The Federal Bar Association is recognized as the professional organization for private attorneys, government lawyers and judges involved in federal practice. The Chapter is dedicated to promoting the welfare, interests, education and professional development of all attorneys in federal practice. Members are drawn from all aspects of federal practice: attorneys practicing in small to large law firms, attorneys in corporations and federal agencies, and members of the judiciary.

Mr. Lund is a member of Pepper Hamilton’s Trial and Dispute Resolution Practice Group and is head of the firm’s litigation practice in Michigan. Mr. Lund’s practice covers a diverse breadth of complex civil litigation matters, with particular emphasis on federal court litigation. He has tried numerous cases to verdict, including federal securities disputes, complex contract and business tort claims, and federal CERCLA and state law environmental matters. Mr. Lund received his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law in 1993 and his B.A. in political science from the University of Michigan in 1990. He is admitted to practice in Michigan.
