Devine joins Locke Lord from Goodwin Procter LLP, where he was a Partner focusing on securities litigation, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) enforcement and white collar criminal defense. He represents corporations, officers, directors and other entities and individuals across a wide variety of industries, including mortgage banking, financial services, life sciences, technology and entertainment. His experience includes defending clients facing criminal prosecutions for securities fraud, conspiracy and insider trading, as well as shareholder class actions and derivative suits.
“Brian’s solid work ethic and excellent reputation are extremely impressive, as are the sophistication, depth and breadth of his experience and strong connections,” said Matt McTygue, Managing Partner of Locke Lord’s Boston office. “He is an outstanding addition to our Boston office who will help expand our litigation capabilities and increase our visibility throughout the Northeast. We are thrilled to welcome Brian to the Firm.”
Devine has represented clients in connection with internal and government investigations, primarily by the SEC and Department of Justice. He has also handled a variety of complex commercial litigation matters, including breach of contract, fraud and intellectual property disputes. In addition to dispute resolution, Devine provides strategic advice, regularly counseling managers and directors on issues like corporate governance, risk assessment, disclosures, contracts, investor relations and media strategy.
“Locke Lord has steadily grown into a recognized White Collar powerhouse,” said Devine. “I’ve had the privilege of working across the table from several of the Firm’s attorneys for a number of years now, and I’m excited to have the opportunity to collaborate alongside them as a member of this very reputable and distinguished team.”
