The Working With Experts course will soon be available for Financial Poise Webinars' Newbie Litigator School’s Winter/Spring 2019 session. It will take place Wednesday, April 24 from 1-2 p.m. Central Standard Time.

The course evaluates the benefits of having an expert witness as it relates to modern commercial litigation. Expert witnesses can serve multiple purposes in these cases, such as calculating damages to giving a breakdown to a judge and/or jury of how specific software operates. An expert witness can also be on hand to describe industry standards.

This webinar kicks off with the typical types of cases that could call for an expert witness. Governing experts such as discovery and dispositions are also covered in this course, as well as the well-known Daubert standard

Ultimately, the goal for those who take the course is to be able to hire an expert witness. It will also provide creative strategy on how to raise issues concerning the opponent’s expert witness.

Participants do not have to be experts in this area. It can also be viewed by itself, as it is not mandatory to watch the webinar with others in the series in order to maximize its full potential.

Instructors for the course are Damian Capozzola of The Law Offices of Damian D. Capozzola in Los Angeles; John Levitske, senior managing director for Ankura; Michael Pakter, who specializes in forensic accounting; and Mitchell Bryan, a partner in Chicago’s Williams, Bax & Saltzman PC.

While participants do not have to be experts, the principal audience for this specific webinar includes attorneys, advisers, business owners, executives and investors.

To register, interested attendees can sign up here. There is a $175 cost associated with the course.

This webinar is in partnership with ChamberWise, Financial Poise and West LegalEdcenter.
