Lewis Brisbois issued the following announcement on Feb. 6.
To help establish one of Lewis Brisbois’ newest offices.
Mr. Cockrum has extensive and varied litigation experience, and joins the firm’s General Liability and Insurance Coverage Practices. He has frequently appeared before Indiana state and federal courts on a variety of matters, including bad faith, breach of contract claims, medical malpractice issues and more.
“The challenge of getting a new office up and running really appealed to me,” said Mr. Cockrum, who was a partner at his previous firm for 13 years before joining Lewis Brisbois. “I’m also looking forward to the opportunity to work with Lewis Brisbois’ Indianapolis office, which has a strong reputation in and around the state’s capital.”
“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Scott for nearly 16 years already,” commented Ms. Mortimer. “His knowledge of the Indiana insurance marketplace will be an incredibly valuable asset as we grow the firm’s Schererville office.”
A longtime Hoosier native, Mr. Cockrum received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Indiana, a Master’s degree from Indiana State University, and his law degree from the University of Notre Dame Law School. He also served as an adjunct professor for over five years in the Paralegal Program at Calumet College of St. Joseph in Whiting, Indiana.
