Polsinelli PAC issued the following announcement on Feb. 7.

Amy Hansen, Denver office shareholder and national Real Estate Practice Chair at Am Law 100 firm Polsinelli, has been unanimously selected to join the board of directors for The Fax Partnership, also known as The Fax. The Fax is the Denver-based nonprofit organization behind the Mayfair Colfax Business Improvement District and focuses on works to preserve affordability and diversity along East Colfax while creating new multi-family housing, business and commercial opportunities along this historic corridor.

“The board is delighted to welcome Amy and we are already benefiting from her local experience, both of which make her perspective so critical for helping The Fax continue its good works,” said Monica Martinez, executive director for The Fax Partnership. “As East Colfax neighborhoods continue to develop around the city’s investments in transportation, we plan to keep adding to the rich legacy of these existing communities while making room for new housing, arts, culture, and nightlife.”

East Colfax is considered Denver’s original main street and is an evolving corridor connecting downtown Denver to the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora. Colfax is the longest commercial street in the United States and home to the Colorado State Capitol, the iconic Filmore Auditorium and Ogden and Bluebird theaters, the Tattered Cover Bookstore and the Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. Jack Kerouac's famous beat-generation novel On the Road, takes place partially in Denver and includes several references to Colfax. The street has been featured in a variety of block-buster films starring Clint Eastwood, Andy Garcia and Jack Nicholson.

“As someone who lives and works in the Denver metro area, I am passionate about redevelopment efforts and transportation system expansions that bring vibrancy to our city, while having concerns about keeping our city accessible to all,” said Hansen. “The work taking place at The Fax fits well with those passions. I am excited to a part of what is next at The Fax.”

As a real estate attorney and real estate practice chair for Polsinelli coast to coast, Hansen has focused her career on assisting clients who are developing raw land or underutilized properties and transforming them into thriving locations. She draws upon her experience to provide practical, business-minded approaches to sophisticated legal issues. Her knowledge and experience in working on the front lines of development projects translates into valuable insight for both developer and lender clients.

Hansen has been ranked in Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business, Real Estate (Colorado), 2017 and in Chambers USA, Band 3, Real Estate, Colorado (2018). She has been included in Colorado Super Lawyers, which also recognized her over multiple years as a Rising Star. She is a past participant in Legacy Denver and was a member of the 2009 class of 50 for Colorado. The Denver Business Journal has also recognized Hansen in its Forty Under 40 list.

In addition to serving on the board for The Fax, Hansen sits on the board of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Denver where she has served as president, Women of Influence Committee Co-Chair, Director of Programs and as CREW Network Delegate. She has been actively involved in the Downtown Denver Partnership, serving on the Denver Civic Ventures Board of Directors, as Chair of the Amendment 64 Implementation Task Force and on the steering committee for the Rocky Mountain West Urban Leadership Symposium Steering Committee. Downtown Denver Partnership recognized Hansen as volunteer of the year in 2014. She has also served in leadership roles on the boards at Urban Peak and Community Alternatives, Inc.

Hansen earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Kansas School of Law where she was a contributor to the Kansas Journal of Law and Public Policy. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
