CLARK HILL: Clark Hill Adds Jeffrey Dornbos as Senior Counsel of Labor & Employment Group in Grand Rapids

Clark Hill issued the following announcement on Jan. 28.

Clark Hill PLC announced the addition of Jeffrey Dornbos as Senior Counsel in its Grand Rapids office, in the Labor & Employment practice. Dornbos joins the firm from Smith Haughey where he had been Senior Counsel.

Dan Bretz, Business Unit Leader of the Labor & Employment practice noted, “Jeff’s addition to the Labor & Employment team will bring added depth to our litigation capabilities in this area. Clark Hill has a national team of experienced litigators and trial attorneys who handle a wide variety of employment-related claims and litigation matters, and Jeff’s background is a great fit for the group.”

“Jeff’s addition to our Grand Rapids team on the Labor & Employment litigation front will be highly beneficial to clients who have expressed a need in this expanding area of practice,” commented Ingrid Jensen, Member-in-Charge of Clark Hill’s Grand Rapids office.

A trial attorney practicing in employment litigation, as well as appellate litigation and professional liability defense, Dornbos represents clients in state and federal court in jury trials and appellate proceedings, including arguing before the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. He also represents clients in hearings and other procedures before various federal and state agencies in employment-related matters.

“Clark Hill’s deep bench of Labor & Employment lawyers and clients will provide the opportunity to expand my practice on a national platform, and allow me to offer a broader range of services to my Michigan clients,” said Dornbos.

Dornbos served as a trial attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. before entering private practice. He earned a B.S from Calvin College, a Masters of International Development Administration at Western Michigan University, and a J.D. from Case Western Reserve University, where he was a law review Senior Editor, magna cum laude and Order of the Coif. Dornbos currently serves on the faculty for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy.
