Greenberg Traurig LLP issued the following announcement on Jan. 22.
Three attorneys with global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLPare listed in EB-5 Investors, “Top 25 Immigration Attorneys in the EB-5 Industry.” Laura Foote Reiff is included as one of the EB-5 attorneys in specialized fields, for her legislative work. Kate Kalmykov and Jennifer Hermansky are both recognized among the top 25 immigration attorneys.
Reiff, Kalmykov, and Hermansky were selected through a combination of community member votes, input from the editorial board, and analysis from the EB-5 Investors Magazine in-house team. This is the fifth time they have been selected for this list.
Administered by U.S. Citizen and Immigration Services, the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program is an employment-based visa that provides foreign investors with a method of obtaining green cards through an investment of $500,000 to $1 million in the U.S. economy that creates at least 10 jobs. Greenberg Traurig’s EB-5 team is comprised of attorneys in the Corporate & Securities, Real Estate, Labor & Employment, and Tax practices, who deliver customized solutions for the firm’s EB-5 clients.
“We are incredibly proud of Laura, Kate, and Jennifer, who were again recognized in EB-5 Investors Top 25 Attorney edition,” said Ian Macdonald, co-chair of the firm’s Immigration & Compliance Practice. “They are not only leading and influential professionals, but also a valued part of our team at Greenberg Traurig, and we congratulate them.”
Reiff has been involved in EB-5 since the program’s inception in 1990. With roots as a business immigration attorney assisting with EB-5 direct investments, she has grown to become co-chair of the firm’s business immigration and compliance group, a co-managing shareholder for the firm’s Northern Virginia office, and the leader of The EB-5 Investment Coalition – a diverse organization of trade associations and businesses working to advance the EB-5 program. Reiff collaborates with Greenberg Traurig’s dedicated EB-5 team, which includes professionals such as economists and securities attorneys, to assist both investors and developers across the full spectrum of EB-5 matters.
Kalmykov is an EB-5 immigration attorney and shareholder in the firm’s New York and New Jersey offices. She is an active member of the immigration law community and has been working on EB-5 cases for a decade. Kalmykov recognized the opportunity that the EB-5 program offered to immigrants who did not have the option of obtaining a visa through family or employment connections, while simultaneously contributing to the growth of the U.S. economy through job creation. These factors prompted her involvement in the EB-5 program and continue to motivate her.
Hermansky first began working on EB-5 investor cases in 2009 and subsequently added regional center matters to her repertoire. She has since been involved in more than 100 regional center projects and has handled thousands of investor petitions. Jennifer is a shareholder in the Philadelphia office of Greenberg Traurig and is part of the firm’s EB-5 team. She has devoted her entire practice to EB-5 because she is truly passionate about it, allowing her to build a thorough understanding of the process. With a degree in finance and a background handling entrepreneurial cases for clients seeking E-2 or L-1 visas, Hermansky is intimately familiar with the business immigration process and applies this knowledge to all her EB-5 cases. She is knowledgeable about the EB-5 program from start to finish, helping investors from the moment they decide to file until they become U.S. citizens, and counseling regional centers on issues of management, staffing, and compliance.
