NORTH DAKOTA SUPREME COURT: Investiture of Judge Daniel Borgen

North Dakota Supreme Court issued the following announcement on Jan. 24.

South Central Judicial District Judge Bruce Romanick served as Master of Ceremonies.

Travis Finck, deputy director of the Commission on Legal Counsel for Indigents, discussed how Judge Borgen's experience gave him ideal preparation for being a judge.

Judge Romanick helped Judge Borgen don his new robe.

On behalf of the State Bar Association of North Dakota, South Central Judicial District Judge Doug Bahr presented Judge Borgen with a gavel.

Chief Justice Gerald VandeWalle gave Judge Borgen the Constitutional Oath.

The Chief Justice welcomed Judge Borgen to the bench and spoke about the new responsbilities he would have as a judge.

Judge Borgen talked about how he chose a career in the law and thanked his family members and the many people who had helped him along his road to the bench.

Supreme Court justices joined district court judges in listening to Judge Borgen's remarks.
