BALTIMORE, Md. (Legal Newsline) – A law firm and its owner are alleged to have mismanaged funds belonging to a company with a principal place of business in North Carolina.

Seterus Inc. filed a complaint on Jan. 7 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland Southern Division, naming BP Fisher Law Group LLP and Plutos Sama LLC and alleging legal malpractice, breach of contract and other counts.

According to its lawyers, Plutos Sama has changed its name to LF Runoff2.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff retained BP Fisher to conduct residential foreclosures and other default-related legal services. The suit states BP Fisher is owned by Plutos.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants mismanaged trust accounts containing funds belonging to it, and this resulted in the misappropriation of $247,495.61 of the plaintiff's money.

The plaintiff says the defendants misappropriated and mismanaged interest on lawyer trust account funds, failed to safeguard its property and concealed material facts.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against defendants for compensatory and punitive damages of more than $75,000, attorneys' fees, costs, and other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Andrew J. Narod and Gregory G. Marshall of Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP in Washington, D.C.
