Fox Rothschild LLP is pleased to welcome Salvatore J. Russo as a partner in the firm’s Health Law Practice.

MacLeod, Ph.D., Fox’s New York office managing partner. “His extensive tenure as GC for NYC Heath+Hospitals gives him extensive insight into the issues and challenges facing clients operating in the health care industry and positions him to provide clients with nuanced counsel on governance and labor management issues.”
Russo has substantial experience advising boards, corporate officers and senior decision-makers on a wide range of matters, including risk management, regulatory compliance, labor relations and complex issues involving medical and mental health concerns. Throughout his career, he has overseen a number of major lawsuits, including class actions, and has spearheaded integral risk management and corporate policy initiatives.
Russo most recently served as senior vice president, general counsel and chief legal officer for NYC Health+Hospitals, which includes 11 acute care hospitals, four long-term care facilities and six diagnostic treatment centers, a health maintenance organization, an accountable care organization and a certified home health agency. During his nearly four-decade career, he has also served as in-house counsel for Maimonides Medical Center of Brooklyn, director of legal affairs for the Greater New York Hospital Association and pro bono counsel to the Metropolitan Health Administrators Association, now known as, the Health Leaders of New York.
He earned his J.D. from Hofstra University and his B.A., magna cum laude, from New York University.
