Fox Rothschild LLP issued the following announcement on Jan. 2.
Fox Rothschild LLP congratulates Lisa W. Arthur, who was named a 40 Under 40 honoree by the Triad Business Journal.
This prestigious recognition highlights professionals under the age of 40 whose achievements in the workplace and the community have distinguished them among their peers.
An associate in the firm’s Greensboro office, Arthur defends municipalities in a variety of disputes in state and federal court, including excessive force claims, negligence actions, constitutional claims, zoning disputes and breach of contract litigation. Arthur set a pace for success early in her career when just two years out of law school, she took on her first solo jury trial and secured a victory for her client. From this achievement, new opportunities followed that allowed her to continue to showcase her professionalism and dedication to client service.
Arthur is actively involved in several legal organizations tailored to young attorneys, including the Greensboro Young Lawyers and the North Carolina Bar Association Young Lawyers Division. She previously served as president of the Greensboro Young Lawyers Section and chair of the North Carolina Bar Association’s Young Lawyer Division Citizen Lawyer Committee. In addition, Arthur played an active role in mentoring summer associates and new hires at Smith Moore Leatherwood LLP, prior to its merger with Fox in November 2018.
Led by a desire to help those in need, Arthur volunteers with the Lawyer on the Line program, a partnership of the North Carolina Bar Association Foundation and Legal Aid of North Carolina, that connects private attorneys with legal aid clients who can’t afford proper legal services.
She earned her J.D., with honors, and her B.S. from the University of North Carolina.
Arthur will be recognized at an awards ceremony in February 2019.
