LITTLE ROCK — An Arkansas refrigeration company has received a $1.63 million judgment from Pulaski County Circuit Court after a consumer protection lawsuit was filed against the company, alleging the defrauding of customers.

According to the Arkansas Attorney General's Office, NuCold Refrigeration Inc., DBA RV Fridge House and RV Icebox, and its owner Jerry Collins, took money from customers but did not deliver many of the promised goods or services and, in some cases, delivered "defective goods."

“More than 200 consumers have experienced financial losses by NuCold, Collins and his businesses,” Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge said in a statement.  “Impacted consumers can be relieved to know that Collins and NuCold are being held responsible for unacceptable business practices. As the chief legal officer in the state, I am dedicated to protecting Arkansans from these types of deceptive business practices."

The judgment includes NuCold paying more than $80,000 in restitution and $10,000 in civil penalties per violation, Rutledge's office said. NuCold is also banned from recreational vehicle refrigerator repair and it business license has been voided.
