TRENTON, N.J. (Legal Newsline) – A New Jersey resident alleges Verizon Wireless has unlawfully contacted him regarding an alleged bill.

Angelo McCutchen filed a complaint on Oct. 16 in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey against Verizon Wireless alleging violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that the defendant has called him and sent text messages regarding the collection of an alleged internet bill incurred by him. He alleges he never provided the defendant consent to call or text him with the use of an automated dialer system and in July 2017, mailed a certified letter telling it to stop contacting him on his cellphone. He alleges the defendant continued to call and text him.

The plaintiff holds Verizon Wireless responsible because the defendant's allegedly unlawful conduct caused him to suffer damages in an amount to be determined.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant for actual and punitive damages, costs, interest, and such other and further relief as may be just and proper. He is represented by Daniel Zemel and Nicholas Linker of Zemel Law LLC in Clifton, New Jersey.
