HOLLAND & KNIGHT: Cyber and IP Lawyer Mark Francis Joins Holland & Knight in New York

Holland & Knight issued the following announcement on Oct. 23.

Cybersecurity, data privacy and intellectual property lawyer Mark Francis has joined Holland & Knight as a partner in the firm's New York office. Mr. Francis advises clients on a wide array of tech and data counseling, as well as transactional and litigation matters. He previously practiced at Reed Smith LLP.

Mr. Francis focuses on cybersecurity and information governance, technical controls, cross-border data transfers, U.S. privacy laws and PCI compliance. He counsels clients on U.S. and global data breaches and other security incidents across a number of industries, and represents them in regulatory and state attorney general investigations and data breach class actions. In addition, Mr. Francis represents clients in a wide range of intellectual property litigation in federal courts throughout the country, and advises them on data and intellectual property agreements and technology transactions. He was recognized as a "Rising Star" by Super Lawyer three years in a row.

Mr. Francis is an International Information System Security Certification Consortium (ISC)2 Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH). He is also an International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US), IAPP Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT) and IAPP Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP).

Mr. Francis received a J.D./MBA degree from Fordham University and a B.S. degree in computer and information science from City University of New York.
