Two Pret A Manger products are not 'natural' as advertised, consumers say

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (Legal Newsline) – Two consumers allege products they purchased from a sandwich shop chain cannot be natural as advertised because they allegedly contain glyphosate.

Samara Daly and Linda Virtue filed a complaint on behalf of themselves and all others similarly situated on Sept. 24 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York against Pret A Manger LTD and JAB Holding Co. alleging breach of express warranty and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that Pret A Manager's Harvest Cookie and products made with its Nine-Grain Granary Bread are falsely advertised as being "natural" foods. They allege the products contain glyphosate, a chemical used in pesticides.

The plaintiffs hold Pret A Manger LTD and JAB Holding Co. responsible because the defendants marketing of the products as natural is allegedly is false and deceptive.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek restitution, disgorgement, refund, and/or other monetary damages, together with costs and disbursements, including attorneys’ fees, prejudgment interest, injunctive relief, statutory or actual damages and punitive damages.
