Eckert Seamans is pleased to welcome associate Winifred B. Gibbons to its Boston office and Litigation Division. Gibbons concentrates her practice in the area of commercial litigation. She has defended clients in a range of matters in state, federal, and appellate courts including claims of negligence, nuisance, highway defect, and all civil rights claims, as well as claims under the Fair Housing Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act.
Prior to entering private practice, Gibbons served as a judicial law clerk for the Rhode Island Trial Court. During law school, she served as a clerk for the Hon. John A. Danaher III at the Litchfield Superior Court.
Gibbons earned her J.D. cum laude, from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 2014 and her B.A. from Trinity College in 2011. In law school, she was a recipient of the CALI Excellence Awards for Family Law, Law and Literature of Crime, and Law and Interpretation. She is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association and the Rhode Island Bar Association.
