MEMPHIS, Tenn. (Legal Newsline) – A Philadelphia corporation alleges that it was not paid for its services by a Tennessee law firm.

Abelson Legal Search filed a complaint on Aug. 10 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Tennessee against Baker Donelson alleging breach of contract and unjust enrichment.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges it was not paid for help it supplied the defendant regarding a merger in 2016.

The plaintiff holds Baker Donelson responsible because the defendant allegedly failed and refused to pay the plaintiff based on their agreement.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages in the amount of $350,000 plus interest, punitive damages in the amount of $1 million, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by William A. Wooten of Wooten Law Office in Covington, Tennessee and Alan S. Mandel of Mandel & Mandel LLP in Louis, Missouri.
