LOS ANGELES (Legal Newsline) — A shareholder has filed a class action lawsuit against a gold mining corporation and its board, alleging breach of duty.
Isaac Kim filed a complaint, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, May 19 in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York against Barrick Gold Corporation, Kelvin P.M. Dushnisky, Catherine P. Raw, Richard Williams and Jorge Palmes, alleging they issued false and misleading statements regarding the company.
According to the complaint, Kim suffered monetary damages from purchasing securities at inflated prices. The plaintiff alleges the defendants issued materially false and misleading statements in order to artificially inflate securities prices.
The plaintiff seeks trial by jury, damages, interest and all other relief the court deems just. He is represented by attorneys Jeremy A. Lieberman, J. Alexander Hood II and Hui M. Chang of Pomerantz LLP in New York, and by Patrick Dahlstrom of Pomerantz in Chicago.
