TOLEDO, Ohio (Legal Newsline) — An environmental law group is suing the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and officials, alleging violation of federal law.

The Environmental Law and Policy Center, Michael S. Ferner and Susan M. Matz filed a complaint May 17, in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio against the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt and EPA administrator Robert Kaplan, alleging they failed to approve or disapprove the list of impaired waters, including Lake Erie, submitted to them by the plaintiffs within the proper time frame.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs were damaged from not being able to use Lake Erie. The plaintiffs allege the defendants failed to approve or disapprove the waters list sent by the plaintiff.

The plaintiffs seek an injunction against the defendants, order the defendants to comply, court costs and all further relief the court grants. They are represented by attorney Madeline Fleisher of Columbus, Ohio.
