SEATTLE (Legal Newsline) - A job applicant has filed a class action lawsuit against Starbucks, alleging breach of duty.
Jonathan Santiago Rosario filed a complaint, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, March 23 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of
against Starbucks Corporation. Rosario alleges the defendant refused to hire him due to false background reports, violating the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
According to the complaint, Rosario sustained monetary damages from having his employment rejected after Starbucks had conditionally accepted his application. The plaintiff alleges Starbucks refused to employ Rosario despite knowing that the criminal record on his background report is inaccurate.
