TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Legal Newsline) — Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi has announced a decision by the Fourth District Court of Appeals that keeps in place Bondi’s motion to enjoin E-Racer Tech LLC and owner James N. Veser from doing business in Florida and freezing assets.

According to consumer complaints, E-Racer Tech deceived them through misleading marketing tactics that would show warnings on computers.

These tactics allegedly led consumers to believe their computers were severely compromised. If the consumers called the number on the pop-up warning, they were promised immediate tech support.

E-Racer employees, according to complaints, would point out supposed issues with the computer and then convince consumers they need to buy repair services in order to fix them.

This case is one of eight recent actions by Bondi to target alleged tech support scams in South Florida.
