Subscriber accuses More magazine publisher of contract breach

Contract 07

ST. LOUIS — A subscriber is suing a magazine publisher, alleging breach of contract and unjust enrichment.

Susan Jager filed a class action lawsuit, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated July 8 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri Eastern Division against Meredith Corporation, alleging violation of the Missouri Merchandising Practices Act.

According to the complaint, Jager has been damaged for not receiving a refund for the remaining un-produced issues of More magazine. The plaintiff alleges Meredith Corporation ceased production of the magazine, failed to contact her or otherwise give her notice of its intent to discontinue the magazine and failed to inform Jager of her right to a product refund.

Jager seeks a trial by jury, damages, attorney fees, legal costs, interest and such other relief the court deems appropriate and just. She is represented by attorneys Emily J. Kirk of McCuneWright LLP in Redlands, California, and by Joseph G. Sauder, Matthew D. Schelkopf and Joseph B. Kenney of McCuneWright LLP in Berwyn, Pennsylvania.
