ANNAPOLIS, Md. (Legal Newsline) - Maryland Attorney General Doug Gansler, who is considered a strong candidate for governor in 2014, reportedly has the war chest needed if he decides to run.
According to Southern Maryland Online, Gansler has close to $3 million in his coffers.
Gansler, a second-term Democrat, ran unopposed in November.
The attorney general told Southern Maryland he has yet to decide on a run for governor and that he is still considering a third term as attorney general.
The report also says the attorney general is looking to raise close to $750,000 at an annual fundraiser later this week.
More than 500 names were on the invite list, including owners of the Washington Redskins, Washington Capitals, Washington Nationals and Washington Wizards, and the president and CEO of Hilton Worldwide.
