U.S. Senate a possibility for younger Biden

Biden

DOVER, Del. (Legal Newsline) - Back from Baghdad, Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden says he is consdering a new job.

On ABC's Good Morning America, Biden said Thursday he is considering a run for the U.S. Senate seat vacated by his father Joe, now the vice president. Biden, a Democrat, recently returned from his deployment to Iraq, where he served as a captain in the Delaware National Guard.

"There's time to make that decision... But I'm going to, first things first, make sure I focus on my family, focus on my job. Look, am I considering it? Absolutely. Absolutely. But I'll be making the decision in due course," Biden said on Good Morning America.

Delaware has organized a special election for Nov. 2010 for Joe Biden's seat. He had won re-election in 2008 to a six-year term.

Ted Kaufman has filled Joe Biden's seat since he resigned it. Former governor and current U.S. Rep. Mike Castle is seeking the Republican nomination.
